Really? My average game length is like 40-50 minutes. But I think it would be better if the average game was 20-30 minutes. Then again, I mostly play Isengard (and Isengard are not so good in the early game). Which may explain why my games take a bit longer?

In defence of (1), it is meant to disadvantage the winning player. Not so much so that the winning player cannot win, but just enough to keep the game interesting. It is often futile for a player who has been pushed back inside her castle to fight back if her opponent has, what seems like, infinite resources. At least the losing player can know that her opponent does not have more than 10000 resources. This encourages the winning player to spend her resources (on troops, upgrades, etc.), and make more frequent attacks (when she has maxed out her command-points). The reason is that the winning player can no longer wait outside her opponent's castle with an army and watch the money roll in (until she has something ridiculous like 20000 or 30000 resources)! Succinctly, (1) forces the winning player to attack, which will speed up the game. That's my feeling anyway.

As for (3), you make a good point. A ram rush would be very annoying if destroying the Fortress meant destroying the Castle too. I don't know has to solve that problem other than buffing the Fortress somewhat. But yea, maybe (3) is not a good idea.

I really enjoy Edain, but I am by no means a pro player. So these ideas may be stupid. But I'll let you judge that for yourselves. One problem I have with Edain (and BFME) is the length of the games. Games can last for hours. My solutions to this problem are:

(1) Cap income to 10,000.
(2) Speed up all build-times by approx. 25%.
(3) Destroying the Fortress destroys the Castle.

Capping the income to 10,000 does two things. One, it keeps the game interesting by preventing one player from having so many resources that the other player does not stand a chance. Two, it encourages spending your resources, which will help speed up the game.

Speeding up all build-times does what it says on the tin. It will speed up the game. (This would be a lot of work I'm sure and may require some balancing, but doable.)

Generally, once your Fortress is destroyed, it's game over. Why waste time destroying all the other buildings in the Castle? Buff the Fortress somewhat, and make it so once the Fortress is destroyed, the rest of the Castle is destroyed too. (People often resign once their Fortress is destroyed anyway, but that is much less satisfying than destroying their Castle.)

Just some thoughts. Let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Sometimes less is more. Especially when it comes to good game design.

Thanks. I suppose a better picture for the Minions of Isengard could be the White Hand of Isengard. That would make more sense since you can summon more than just Dunlendings with that spell. But I am afraid I have to disagree with you about the War Cry picture for the Isengard Unleashed spell. Personally, I think it is quite fitting (Though I grant that it is strange to see it worth 10 points since we are so used to seeing that picture worth 1 point. Someone might think that the 10 point spell for Isengard is merely the War Chant spell!)

Ignore the wrong spell-cost for the Palantir spell!

I posted a link to what the Isengard Spellbook might look like with the old spell-pictures. Since then, I have edited it a bit for fun. Here is the new link:

(I'm not suggesting you change the spell-pictures. Though I do prefer the old spell-pictures myself.)

I prefer it, but that's just me.

When you line your men up in a formation eg. Spearmen in front, archers behind and cavalry to the sides. Is it possible to make them run in formation? Once you have your men lined up and you tell them to move they clump together again. No question, BFME2 was my favourite PC game but it did have alot of little things that needed fixing. Thanks to this mod we can finally have BFME2 the way it should have been!

Is it possible to make Uruk-hai surround the battering-ram to protect it and hide it just like in the movies when they are attack Helm's Deep? Or is that simply to difficult to create? I've always wanted to be able to do that in the game.

In the upcoming English Patch, do you know if it will only be the writting that is translated? Or will voices and sound effects also be included in the translation?

Oh really? That is interesting to here that you have already considered the idea. My thoughts are if a Villainous team aquired the One Ring then they could build Sauron or their own unique Ring Hero, whilst on the other hand a Good team could build there own unique Ring Hero or Frodo and Sam - so that you have two options when you aquire the Ring. To Continue, lets say Isengard aquired the Ring and built Sauron they could also gain an alliance bonus with Mordor for choosing to give the Ring to Sauron and of course you would balance this out somehow so that choosing to build Saruman was just as benefical for a different stratagy. I like the idea of different Ring Heroes better than Frodo and Sam anyway but as DeadRanger said it may be a good idea for a certain map or something.

My favourite new units, it would be cool if these guys could stealth in forests along with Lurtz and Ugluk!

Here is an idea, what if, when a Good Faction aquires the One Ring and deposits it of at their Fortress, they are able to give the Ring to Frodo and Sam for 10,000. Frodo and Sam are stealthed and if you are able to manoeuvre Frodo and Sam to the enemies Fortress without dying and deposit the Ring of at their Fortress, you automatically Win the game.
