The Iron Dream - Last Light

Hey people

It seems that despite the fact that many times I almost believed that the stories from the Wasteland are dead… one story is still stuck in my life.

Old mysteries of the Wasteland don’t die so easily…

“The Iron Dream – Last Light” is returning to life after so many difficult years.

A lot of levels are finished but there are plenty to do and frankly I will be in a dire need for some help.

Modelers, animators and proof readers are most welcomed… if someone is willing to embark in a difficult journey with me now is the moment.

Here is a link to the newest teaser trailer, I hope you enjoy.

About quests and adventures...

AndromedaCrescent Blog 1 comment

Since I was told lately that I'm too silent about my work, I will fix for the moment this issue.

I have three mods on workbench :

  • The first is for Fallout 3, working title "On the shore of forever", marking the beginning of a new saga, "The Iron Dream ". It will use some elements from AQFH lore but it will have a stand alone story and also stand alone side stories. The story of the Iron Dream will focus on the Majestic organisation, his goals and... well you don't expect to know everything from the beginning, don't you... :).
  • The second is for Fallout: New Vegas, working title " Twilight", will continue the story from the first one, adding a new vision about the Majestic organisation.
  • The third will be for Fallout 4, working title "Nightfall ". It will be a conclusion for the Iron Dream saga AND for AQFH... not willing to spoil too much the surprise...

It is a daunting task, but since I have now a lot of spare time ahead, I hope it will be completed. Since lately the overall quality of quest and adventure mods for Fallout lore is pretty low, I hope that this announcement will bring some joy for all of you who have enjoyed the adventures of AQFH.

The only thing I could guarantee is this: this new saga will have the same high quality standards of AQFH series.

Excellent level design, immersive atmosphere, excellent sound tracks, but above all... a gripping story.

The first teaser trailer for "The Iron Dream: On the shore of forever" is scheduled for 1 July 2017 and the approximative ( if all goes well ) release date for the first episode of TID is 1 September 2017.

Best wishes all

The Iron Dream

AndromedaCrescent Blog

I was playing for some time, for my pleasure ( and to keep my mind sharp :] ), with the GECK… yes, THAT GECK… for Fallout 3.

And I realized that those beautiful levels and landscapes begin to have something in common and I said to myself : “Why not? ”

In the last months I received a lot of questions about new content for the AQFH saga and for future plans…

The “Scorched Earth ” saga, meaning AQFH is indeed a closed chapter, but why not continue with a new story ? A story involving the dreadful Majestic organisation, or an ancient and almost forgotten mystery and a battle for a better future ?!… all in the atmosphere of Fallout 3… having AQFH as a background story.

SO… I will do my best to begin a new saga, “The Iron Dream“, bringing together the unpublished content from “Codename Icarus”, from the beginning levels of AQFH 4 and the new content, for a first episode, with a WIP name “On the shore of Forever” and I must say… judging only by the content build so far, the first episode from “The Iron Dream” will dwarf even the massive AQFH 3 !

But since it’s always room for better, ANYONE with skills in modeling, texturing, rigging, scripting or voice acting is welcome onboard !… ANYONE who love the atmosphere of FO3.

Just imagine… “Deep Blue” … bigger, better and more beautiful!

That’s all folks… have a nice day !

Farewell Fallout 3

The "Scorched Earth Saga", meaning AQFH saga for Fallout 3 has ended.

For several reasons.

First of all, the outdated game engine of Fallout 3, with AQFH 3 - Deep Blue it was reached the maximum potential for visual, audio and gameplay for a quest and adventure mod.

One of the "trademark"of the AQFH series was established first by Firelady and it was the original and impressive visual appearance. This trademark was maintained during all the episodes, improved and enlarged leading to the impressive Deep Blue.

Another trademark of the AQFH series was the sound track... almost every level or situation has his unique music.

Also the ingame sounds.

It was also a first, introduced by Firelady in Episode 1 and maintained and enriched during episode 2 and 3.

A second reason why the AQFH series for Fallout 3 has ended was the fact that my real life had changed dramatically, in a good way, my spare time to work to such mod was drastically reduced.

The third reason was... well... the "community" behaviour.

Frankly I get tired and angered at that time by the numerous virulent and offending comments towards me and mine and Firelady work.

I have not ""inherited" AQFH3... I have WORKED directly to Episode 2 and managed entirely Episode 3, most of the level design from Episode 2 and almost all from Episode 3 was my work.

I have read comments related to Episode 3 like: "half of the work in Deep Blue was done by others" or "the author has disrespect for customers ( ?!!) "... of course where else,at Nexus...

A user who don't even bothered to vote for Episode 3 here on Mod DB, say that it would donate if this is the only condition to play more "updates"for AQFH... it wont be the case, AQFH was and is totally free, nor Firelady or me have requested something for our "baby".

And answering to the same user, I DO have a problem to allow someone else to continue this saga.

First of all, for quality reasons, the AQFH series was the ONLY series who was evolving from good to great, with every episode the quality bar was raised higher and higher.

I seriously doubt that someone will have the skill, the imagination, the will, the passion to work months after months and to came up with something AT LEAST similar to Episode 3.

For all the reasons above ( and a few other more personal), the AQFH series for Fallout 3 is ended, all support is ended, Episode 3 DLC "Codename Icarus" and WIP "The Iron Dream" are both canceled.

IF it will be A Fallout 4, who knows, maybe the story of Gabriel Darvari and the Wonderboy will continue...

Until then... I continue working with U4 engine at AQFH - Nightfall.

Best wishes to all

Intolerance

AndromedaCrescent Blog

This days I witnessed one of the most degrading attitude towards the modding community and in particular to the Bethesda modding community.

A wave of hate, rage , intolerance and irrationality directed by the Nexus "community" toward those who provided them for YEARS free quality mods.
From a protest against the announced made by Valve\ Bethesda regarding the paid mods, the furry of the Nexus "community "reached some unbelievable levels of intolerance.
The ENTIRE Nexus modding community was accused until it was reached the level where the"users" denied even the right to free opinion and free action to modders.

Comments like" wish you dead", "is not much about your work so piss off", " modders have no rights since we decide who is worthy"... and so on, until the entire Nexus site is saturated with hate, dictatorship behaviour and hostility.

They only succeeded to alienate a lot of good modders, who decided to move away for EVER from that toxic and dirty climate.

For those interested, read this article, Gamersnexus.net, from witch I will quote only a small part:

" It's common to see the community tear at itself over Valveā€™s policies, but the users persecuting the modders was new, and has created a rift that is still fresh and may remain here for a long time.
Most of the modders who promoted the system faced an immediate backlash with the same violence and intensity as faced by Valve but, unlike Valve, these are lowly-compensated individuals unaccustomed to handling such aggression."

The Nexus "community" simply DENIED to ANY modder the right to free opinion and free act, making them "spoiled brats", "greedy" and so on.

That's WHY I completely removed all the AQFH files still being there.
I don't want in the future that the name AQFH to be associated with the "community" of Nexus or with the Nexus itself anymore, with that infamy who took place this days under the Nexus patronage.

It's alive again...

Despite some adverse conditions, AQFH 3 it's again available to those who love quests and adventures.

Although it has some fierce battle sequences, AQFH 3 it's not a "kill them all" mod... although it has many puzzles, it's not a brain squeezing mod...
Most certainly you will ask - "So what it is after all?! "...
It all above AND an excellent story, because I believe that the story is what make the AQFH series so thrilling and enjoyable ( maybe I'm wrong, I'm just a normal guy...).

As Firelady intended and I try to continue along this path, to create a credible story, able to sustain by it self, to create a logic and credible universe where strange and gripping stories could be told... with the support of stunning visuals and music.

Maybe you will ask "Why only for Fallout 3 ?"... because the Fallout 3 universe is more versatile, because is more grim and tragic than New Vegas ( personally I consider FNV more like a cowboy story than a post apocalyptic world... but that's just me).
Because in Fallout 3 you could use a more dramatic and human approach than FNV... after all it about a world devastated by a nuclear war.

That's why AQFH series DON'T have support for TTW... period. If someone want to port AQFH series to TTW, fine by me, but don't ask for support.
And here I want to talk about an aspect of the human nature...
Courtesy!

There is a Russian version of the AQFH, a super mod, gathering episodes 1 and 2 and episode 3 demo... have SOMEONE send a courtesy mail to announce this?!
Same for TTW... have SOMEONE send a courtesy mail to talk about this?!

It's the same problem that was on ( cross fingers! ) Nexus, a lot of people DEMANDING help but few of those demanders actually endorsing the mods...
Nor Firelady or me have begged for votes ( like so many others)... but is a common sense reason, if you want quality content for free, at least show your appreciation... somehow.

Anyway... for the near future is scheduled a DLC for AQFH 3, "Codename Icarus" who will make the connection with the final part of this series AQFH 4 - The Iron Dream.
Both are WIP, "Codename Icarus" deadline is situated in December 2014 as for "The Iron Dream" the most optimistic deadline is somewhere in May 2015.
If I'm still alive till then... :)

The show will go on... :)

One of the best Quest Mods ever made. Not just for Fallout 3, but for any game - EVER.It's not just a race for your life, or a way to escape, but to achieve a better place more beautiful than the last-and the thought of losing that place is what drives you to play more, and to survive. It may be fantastic and enormous, but it feels MORE LIKE FALLOUT than the games Bethesda have put out.Every moment of A Quest For Heaven feels like a race for something special through a sacred graveyard. It combines all the looks and feel of a professional and modern video game, while still enticing you to USE YOUR IMAGINATION.
All around, AQFH is one of the most enjoyable experiences the video game genre of ART can offer.Every challenge is difficult, but rewarding, and every reward is worth the effort. I recommend you download it now, turn the lights out, and set the speakers on high.

I remember the first part was released not long after one of my best friends died. Someone who was practically an older brother to me. I was pretty messed up back then. Did some stupid s*** too. Figured if someone could walk away unharmed from an ambush and an IED and then die when his bike lost traction because of some stupid gravel, what's the point of being careful? Life is too short not to go all out. Then I found A Quest for Heaven and bought Fallout. I was glued to my computer. It gave me something to focus on. Something to take my mind off the crap that was all around me. Something to keep me grounded and off the streets. The same day I found AQFH, I was supposed to join a few guys for a cruise (over here, that means insane speeds and extreme risk taking). Two of those guys are now in prison.I remember during philosophy class in school, my teacher once said that everyone on this planet has a kind stranger that once helped him/her. Someone that leaves a part of them with you. And you'll remember this person forever. Well, this unknown user on nexusmods was my kind stranger. I didn't even know her name. Its quite possible that she saved my life, judging how my "friends" ended up. And I regret not having the chance to meet her. Rest in peace. PS: The universe works in mysterious ways. I was just accepted into the police academy... Maybe that teacher wasn't full of crap after all.

AQFH Home

A simple... why

AndromedaCrescent Blog

After more than 3 years spent on modding for Fallout 3 I'm in the posture to leave the site who hosted so far A Quest for Heaven.
You may ask why?!

Paraphrasing a great British political leader :
"Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it"
A so called admin, in a monumental display of ego, with a perverse sense of self importance decided that AQFH3 - Deep Blue, the third episode in the monumental saga AQFH, must be terminated.

You may ask again...why?

Frankly, I gues is all about personal vendetta and a lot of jealousy.
Maybe that man could be a good father, husband or friend ( although I doubt...), but when he enter in he's small kingdom named Nexus, I think that something snap inside him.
Maybe he thinks he's a small god, judging us from the ethereal realm he sit.
Maybe is simply a deranged man, with a small soul and a narrow mind, capable of hurting people only because he can... unpunished ( it would be FUN to meet him one day...).
The only thing that I KNOW is the fact that this man, named "micalov staff member" decided to terminate AQFH.
But in he's delirious dreams of power forgot something... he don't OWN the entire world.
So i decided to retire the entire A Quest for Heaven series from Nexus site, because about this site is this story.

Paraphrasing another great political leader, American this time:
"This day will be remembered as a day of Infamy"
A day of Infamy and shame, when a personal vendetta an a narrow mind tried to put an end to AQFH series. compromising also the site and the staff who sustained he's crime.

He failed
Shame on you "micalov staff member"
