To call this a "mod" wouldn't do it justice, as it's basically a whole new game. It truly captures the spirit of Doom 2016 in its combat style, and provides a sense of continuity between the original Doom and the 2016 version. Watching Doomguy progress from the Doom marine, with no real special powers apart from being tough, to the Doom Slayer was a lot of fun.

The sheer attention to detail on the graphics is amazing. I don't know if the textures were ripped from something else, or if they created them from scratch, but they work to create some beautifully haunting vistas. Playing this in ultra detail in 4k is truly amazing. The team really pushed GZDoom to its limits.

One thing I particularly appreciate is that even though some of the maps are enormous, it's basically impossible to get lost.

There are some bugs when using the Guncaster mod, but Bifurcator was extremely helpful in listening to my complaints and offering a workaround. That, and the team has already identified the bug and will fix it in 1.1.
