Some are known to have been to the death, but it is generally until one submits or is forced to yeild.
I personally have my bets on the dark angel in this fight.

There's an entire book based on this conflict, except it actually turns into an armed one. It's one of the books in the Space Wolf omnibuses. I don't remember which one.
The book you mean is called "Sons of Fenris" from the second Space Wolves Omnibus.
Because of the competitive nature of Russ and E'l Johnson's relationship and an ancient scuffle during a seige between Russ and El' Johnson, it is customary before any collaboration of forces between Dark Angels and Space Wolves that a champion from each chapter compete in combat, armed or unarmed. Yes.. some have been to the death.
