Its the Terran Marines (SC universe) vs the Imperial Guard!
Imperial Guard hands down.
Baneblade vs a load of tossers in plastic armour, no contest.
Plus think of all the flashlights!!
hmm id actually like to witness this battle unfold i mean ig would win but who wouldnt want to see guard basicaly pawn mk1 astearties lol but in reality i think a gauss rifle would do more damage than a flashlight but numbers pawn all
**** SC! also lets not forget the Imperal guard has some pretty badass inft (storm-troopers, Karsakins, Ogryns and Assassains) and a huge technoligacal adavntage. Lets not also forget if by some horrid chance they start losing I DELCARE THIS PLANET A LOST CAUSE EXTERMANTIUS. Besides theres a much bigger plot armor for imp guard ( lets see who has helped them in some way in the past dow games) Orcs, Eldar, and Space marines and we all know what happens when we involve space marines! final word is UNLEASH THE TITANS!!!
people seem to forget... that the Imperial Guard are PROFESSIONAL INTERPLANETARY SOLDIERS WHO FUGGING KICK ***!

LOL even if all SC races joined forces they still wouldn't be able to do jack **** the Imperium of Man.
EDIT: Come to think of it if they ever engaged in conflict it would go like this:
The Astartes will annihilate the Terrans no problem.
The Imperial Guard will outzerg the Zerg.
The Inquisition will obliderate Aiur(again) and deal with the Protoss once and for all.
Well there is only two races that would stand anywhere near a chance (dont flame meh im a huge fan boy of both 40k and the seris there from)
Xenomorphs/Aliens vs Tyranids It would be a bitter contest plus Tyranids are kinda based off em idk Tyranids do have Numbers but so do Xenomorphs it just depends can the Xenomorphs face rape a planet fast enough 2 get the numbers needed? Tyranids win in space (xenomorphs have no bio ships)
Predators vs Space marines
Well Space marines may be the biggest HUMAN badasses ever but lets face it hands down the most badass alien race is the Predators. The preds do have alot of combat ex and just like space marines they live forever (or at least thousands of years) and its hard 2 find a picture of more then 1000 of both of em at a time!XD I dont know much bout 40k ships at all so im just notta gunna disscus that.
well there u are the only 2 races that would last more then 5 secs in 40k other then already made 40k races
40K ships, to answer your unspoken query, would outclass everything in starcraft put together. Attack speed is 400 000 kmh plus (when they break warp it can be 80% light speed), and point blank range is 60 000km or less. Max range for a lance cannon, which has the power of a nuclear weapon compressed to a few square meters, is about 200 000- 370 000 km (depending on the any debri, gas or other variables in the way). Shields are capable of withstanding nuclear blasts, the armor and interior is all designed to keep the ship combat capable until the reactors go. Starcraft terran capitals have a few forward firing batteries and can't match for firepower, range, speed or defenses.
btw tyranids came first. starcraft ripped their **** from GW

Hmm, lots of cheap conscripted crooks in power armor versus trilions of lightly armored highly motivated troops.... Imperial Guard
To make things worse for them, the Imperium has a damn good reason for massacring the Terrans (Especially the UED). Its because they reject religion altogether...this means the EMPRAH is just a mythological superstition for them.
Nevertheless, the Imperial Guard would definitely win against the Terrans. Having already dealt not only alien races, but also the very incarnation and physical form of evil itself (aptly named THE FORCES OF CHAOS).
Alright, let's see.
Terrans have Firebats and Marauders and regular Marines, and all kinds of tiny vehicles.
In a Starcraft match, you usually get no more than 100 regular guys, I want to say, 5 Thors, and 5-8 medivacs.
IG have weaker guns, but consider the enormous amount of guardsmen there are. They seriously outnumber the Marines, just shoving in thousands of standard troopers to fight one battle. They also have better vehicles. You know, send one Titan in and MAYBE if the Terrans fly in tons of Battlecruisers they will win against that one Titan. Not to mention the IG have better specialists than the Terrans, like Psykers and the Commissars and Generals with bolt pistols and power swords.
Maybe the IG would have a problem with the Terrans' Banshees...
Not to mention the imperial guard are better trained and more experianced.
