The original OOMs sounded so much better. At the end of the day, the B1s sound dumb because they got Lucas'd.

Is it just me or does everything sound better in German? Though I have to agree the old OOM Battledroids sounded better and generally were better save for their one major weakness, which we all know is the Droid Control Ships.
Battledroid 1: Boy, this is a lot more fun when they are not shooting back!
Battledroid 2: I still can't seem to hit anything!
This makes sense, but it's mostly retroactively trying to explain the B1s being overly dumb and comical in TCW, which is mostly a kids show.
B1s were always less adapt in warfare than a well-trained organic, but in Episode I & II they still had a menacing feel. In III they weren't shown that often and had still some serious scenes, but already had quite silly voices (which I found really off-putting watching it the first time).
And finally in TCW they just went full retard because apparently we needed more comic relief. Honestly it was a pretty stupid decision, since in my eyes it makes all of the good guys automatically less cool if all they're fighting are those goofy pieces of scrap. And it looks really bad if the Republic actually loses a fight. I mean, you'd be ashamed too if you lost a battle against those dumb droid *****.
Agreed especially on that last part.
In the appeal to be kid friendly they alienated older audiences.
The original trilogy is proof that you can appeal to both audiences without making the show oversimplified and 1 dimensional.
A perfect example of why the clone wars cartoon is unwatchable for me. That and every character is ridiculously 1 dimensional.
In regards to the video, you can't expect me to believe that utter incompetence that was supposedly brought about by poor maintenance would have been ignored by the CIS for any extended period of time. The shear stupidity of the B1's makes them less competent that Jar Jar Binks.
