Hi all,

what are the most important information about a WoP server you like to see in an server browser?

or, in german:

was sind die wichtigsten Informationen eines Servers, die ihr in einem Server Browser sehen möchtet?

Hi Hectic,

  • server name (DNS or IP, as well as the name it has chosen to appear as in the Serverbrowser)
  • playercount (humans, bots, total, limit)
  • ping
  • player names (Maybe behind a "Details" button)
  • message of the day (Maybe behind a "Details" button)
  • gamemode
  • mapname
  • Is Pure?
  • Is modded (list of mods or "none" for vanilla wop)?
  • custom field where the server owner can write down server rules, contact info, where to get additional files, etc. (Maybe behind a "Details" button)

And what would be most cool:

If this list could also be downloaded as an xml or json file, I can write a script that allows me to view all servers and select one which then automatically starts my game with connecting to said server without having to parse html. XML or json is nicer to parse because it is actually made to be parsed.
