I'm running the latest Catalyst drivers and now Gnome 3 runs great, except
for when I open Desura. This causes lots of weird flickering. Might be an
incompatibility with an old Gnome library?

My guess would be that this is an ATI/AMD issue, since I don't have any flickering in GNOME3 with Nvidia and the latest drivers.

Edit: Maybe try the open-source driver, since it sometimes has a better performance than the proprietary one.
