Sorry if it's a little half-arsed.
that's why i hate steam :/
steam is actually one of the most reliable places to download if you ask me. my internet speed isn't the best, in fact it sucks *** @132kb/s(thank god i'm moving to the Netherlands soon.. 5mb/s here i come!) but at least its steady all the way through. other downloads tend to swing from 90 to 130kb/s
It may say at first it takes that long but it usually only end up taking about a few hours or so.
...only a few hours...
i live in sweden and here i get about 5-7 mb/s
My Steam download speeds are pretty fast - Same as my normal download speed, which at it's highest is 1.2 MB per second.
(Not sure how that compares to average...But it's fast for me, lol)
Typical for me, though in my cases it would be 1 week,6 days remaining.
I downloaded Fallout New Vegas on steam and it said 6 hours but it was done in less than 1 hour, so steam lies to make you feel better.
I also have 1.2 mb/s download speed, never had the problem with steam :O
