Disney has officially announced that the star wars expanded universe has been reset, effectively making everything that isn't Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels non-canon
The Star Wars We grew up with is dead. I weep for the future of this franchise, the future of entertainment and the future of humanity as a whole
Ignore it. Believe what you want to believe as cannon and let them tell the story again but different.
If the original stories meant something to you then hold onto that and ignore the new stuff. Them saying it's non-cannon doesn't make the books vanish.
