What do people have with white on grey renders?? :S
im not much of a renderer this was just a quick render on the final version it will have a better render
Just make a more whitey like gun texture, use the advanced lighting addon and add a skylight above. Easy Smeashy!
i would tone down the backround a bit, make the gun stand out more. and i would tone down the gun aswell... xD make the backround a very dark gray or maybe even black, and then make the gun a mediokre gray, problem solved.

well since the next time you see it will be textured it doesnt matter too much is the model ok though?
looking alright mate, once you get a better render we will be ablet to comment on it more, or what about a wireframe wouldnt mind seeing the topology.
