^^ Can send you my refs if you ever want them =]. The picatinny rail you're on your own with (had to try and find what limited pictures I could of that).

Low polygon version might be a long-time coming. Going to have a lot on. Sure, all I have to do is take the current cage and weld all the verts I don't need for the detail; but that's a lot of verts to weld!

Very nice model, pity its of one of the worst weapons beretta has ever produced, but still, great detailing!

Hmm... my boss doesn't think so, haha. :) Its only designed as a personal defence weapon - not for sporting or hunting, so I guess it was never going to be an amazing shooter!

Thanks - yeh, those details take some time!

Well there's no doubt its sexy looking, but any 9mm carbine is notoriously lacking in both stopping power and accuracy. As a home defense weapon it works, sure. But I wouldn't wanna have to fight a war with it that's for sure, hehe.

Regardless, the weapon itself is irrelevant...the model on the other hand, is simply gorgeous.

It's not just a 9mm, They come in 9mm,.40,.45 . I'd go for the .45 :)

"Its only designed as a personal defence weapon"

I generally think of personal defense weapons as being more compact. Generally home invasions aren't sieges, and anyways wouldn't a shotgun or a rifle be better anyways?

I think Beretta is trying to appeal to the "gotta collect 'em all" Pokemon type collector, lol.

Anyways, great modeling, it's especially impressive because of all the organic lines to it. What kind of modifiers did you use primarily?

Fantastic job. Looks like very clean modelling. Can't wait for lowpoly and maybe even textured version.

Yeah; thats an awesome sight and a good place to start. It helped with this gun, as I knew a guy who actually owned the gun - so references were on-demand and from whatever angle. Makes a whopping difference!

Glad you like it!

Nice Cx4. Its not my favorite, (tie between G36, SCAR, MP7 and MR-C), but very nice job none the less.

Description

High polygon model for a retail game I'm working on. Can't give more details than that about "Why?". Its about 300,000 tris. Autodesk 3DS Max 2008 64-bit. Modelled to the milimetre using my own sourced references (my boss owns the gun - life's a lot easier). Going to be used to generate a normal map from.
