Back on topic. Yesterday marked the release of Xenonauts build V8.41. When finished, Build V8 is going to be our “Press Preview” build that we send to our press list as a first preview of the game, and therefore we’ve been working hard on the stability of the game and fixing bugs. Ironically the last few bugfixes have caused issues of their own, so I’ve held off posting this until we’ve dealt with them (we now have).
The major changes since Build V7.5 is that we’ve added the Main Menu background art (seen in this post), added the first hour or so of the Research tree and several researchable weapons to the game, then added Save / Load to the game and a crashed UFO to the combat map for the first time – but there are dozens of smaller improvements too. You can read more detail on what has changed on our website here: Xenonauts.com
We’re still working on adding extra usability functionality and fixing the remaining bugs in our build, but we’re nearly there. Expect weekly updates until we do! In the meantime, it’d really help us if people could report any bugs they encounter and give us feedback on what works and what doesn’t in our builds.
Build V9 will be following after we’ve got the bugs fixed and our media blitz done. That should be a lot more interesting – new weapons, new aliens and maybe even…jetpacks! Stay tuned – more details to follow...
great nice job guys keep it up but i have question the final relese of game be 10.0??
Love the new immersive direction, can't wait to see more!
Looking smooth so far.
And here I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find the UFO crash on the map I was playing. SILLY ME.
Love the artwork in this game. I hope the game is good.
literally just bought the game, absolutely bloomin brilliant, at last a truly (non fps) worthy succesor to x-com.
I must say, with the recent announcement of Fraxis jumping back in to do a X-Com RST game, I will still check out this game just for the fact its more a labor of love that goes into this type of game. I look forward to the finish product. Already pre-ordered. Keep up the good work.
pre-ordered as loved the Xcom games - really enjoying this but have a bug where game crashes everytime one of my squad performs a "Snap" shot during an Alien move. Cant invest time as Snap shots happen quite often. Will check again in a few weeks and am very much looking forward to it. keep up the good work.
