Gameplay using items
I can't explain this one - I've never seen this in game nor do I recall it ever been mentioned.
I'll leave this for someone else to take over. :)
(Although I suspect units summoned via items now expire after a while.)
Mostly to do with spectral horde (the only temporary units in the game as long as spectral dragons/dragonfear spell), call of aranea and the likes. A very specific combo I would say.
This was also to showcase summoned buildings (such as guardians, eggs and summoned via quests): they are temporary and now you can see their timer.
I had 3 items giving me spectral horde, summon pit fiend, call of aranea and the last enemy standing was Barbarian. Tempest killed my ironman hero level 51 and lost the Mages Conquest Campaign :(. Basely my hero was killed by the Dreamlord in one of his dreams witch is kinda ironic. About 70% of the campaign was complete.
