Awsome, more terrain features.
As a map-maker I really enjoy the possibilitie this mod offers, cant wait for the next version.
Smooth (and to a very minor extent - Variate) was an original editor feature that's been with the series since the very first game. However, it was disabled in WBC3 because the tiles supplied with the game weren't set up properly to use it. In addition to that, the Smooth function had a bug where the "very bottom" tile set could not transition properly and would cause mistakes when used.
But after immense work, we now have the function working! It can be a little bit stubborn, so you'll need to play with it to understand how it works and how to get the best results from it. (There is always a dominant and recessive tile set, with the recessive tiles being replaced by the dominant ones - so you'll need to add extra recessive tiles for them to transition properly - always having at least 2 side by side. With a dominant tile set, you can literally hold down the left mouse button and just draw all over the map with those tiles, and Smooth will correctly replace the tiles around them to complete the transition.)
As for Variate - the game randomly replaced tiles already on the map for others in their respective group. This was originally apart of Smooth, but now has been separated and made into its own function. It's also been vastly improved - allowing for varying rarity between tiles and even support for big tiles!
Typically Smooth should be used at the start of map making (after Fill Map) - quickly transitioning different terrain sets together. Variate can safely be used at any time without fear of breaking the map, but still ideal to use early on (especially just after using Smooth).
