The Game:

The Concourse is a futuristic foot racing game where you race against your friends, conquer obstacles, dodge energy attacks and try to get to the flag first! Each game is played over the course of 10 rounds with the winner having the most points at the end. We know, we know... You've seen it all before. What makes The Concourse different is that whoever winds up crossing the finish line first modifies a factor in the next race. Want to run faster? Tired of getting slammed by "Energy Attacks"? Feel like the attacks aren't recharging fast enough? Win and control those factors and more. Each track is a procedurally-generated maze, meaning each race will offer a completely different layout for a new challenge every time. Rely on your cunning and skill. With all of the obstacles we throw at you, you'll need a little luck too.

Current Features:

- Procedurally-generated courses ( Get a new obstacle course every time you play )

- Attacks designed to hinder and frustrate:

Chaos

Hitting someone with a Chaos attack will instantly turn them around 180 degress and invert their controls. It's a cheap attack, costing only 1 energy to use. It also wears off pretty quickly but it is still very effective.

Drift

Drift causes a reduction in friction as well as gives the players a little bit of a push. While you are affected you will also be unable to jump at regular height (due to unsure footing). It costs 2 energy to fire. It can be a great way to make someone miss a turn. >=)

Containment

Getting hit with Containment stops you in your tracks. This effect causes the largest delay of the current attacks. It costs 3 energy to fire. While affected by this attack, you can still aim and fire at other players but you will have to wait until it wears off to move again.

Use your shield to absorb attacks and their energy into your reserve

The shield is the only way to defend yourself from a direct attack. Once active you will be unable to move or attack but any incoming attacks are nullified and any energy the attacker spent is now yours. Your energy reserves regenerate by themselves but this is a great way to increase the amount stored quickly. Part luck and part strategy will help you use a shield effectively.

- Randomized obstacles

- Steam integrated online play

- Controller Support

- Winner votes at the end of each race to modify core game mechanics for the following races

Selecting Speed only (Increases how fast everyone can run)

After you win a race you will be presented with some options. The speed modifier simply increases how fast you can run. As you increase speed you will also be able to jump further due to having more momentum. This changes the way you navigate the maze and the obstacles over time. Your choices early on will affect the rest of the races that follow.

Selecting Recovery only (Reduces the amount of time an attack affects you)

If you're getting harassed by energy attacks then this may offer you some relief. This choice at the end of the race allows you to reduce how long an attack will affect everyone. After a few rounds of this you will be able to shrug off an attack faster and get back in the race.

Toggle POV

We put this here to clarify that you can switch views on the fly during a race. That's all. :)

The Devs:

The Concourse is a game created by A & B Game Studios, a two man team consisting of a Jack of all trades (Alvin) and a software engineer (Bryan), who also happen to be cousins. Growing up, we would talk a lot about the games we loved and the games that we would love to see realized. Adulthood spurred us into taking "real jobs" but deep down we both still wished we could make games. Needless to say we've been busy over the years, but about a year ago we started to talk about our childhood aspirations. As luck would have it, one of us went to school for animation and visual effects and the other for programming. With the release of Unreal Engine 4 and a renewed sense of ambition, we decided to tackle our dreams, armed with the confidence that old age brings.
