An 8-bit adventure about sailing the Atlantic - Inspired by Oregon Trail

Be the Captain of your own ship in the 1700's and make decisions that will determine your fate. Control everything from food rationing to amputating limbs. Sail for the British Navy or rebel and become a pirate. The lives of your crew are in your gout ridden hands.

Each vessel matches the speed of it's real life counterpart which will give you an accurate depiction of how difficult and tedious a journey across the ocean was in the age of sail. You could enjoy a casual experience on a Frigate as you fly across the waves and decimate pirates in a War Galleon like a rich ponce- or -Suffer a HARDCORE challenge on the Raft and struggle to feed your men daily while your vessel crawls along so slowly you'll BEG the wind to pick up.

Minimal Route Planning 1560

The massive Route Planning expansion for The Caribbean Sail is complete and has been added for free!

After four months of blood, sweat, soylent, and sleep deprived tears; I've completed the first free expansion for The Caribbean Sail.

Nassau View

Feature Log
In that time I was able to add more particle effects! ...and nine new locations, seven new player ships, four new professions, nine new achievements, twenty two new shanties*, two emergent storylines, new items, new fishes, new weather effects, new enemy types, new events, ship upgrades, a skill tree, profiles, preaching, resting, careening, barnacles, narwhals, the drydock, the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker**, mexican standoff style mutinies- AND THE QUEEN HERSELF!!!

* See the Shanty Off.
** The candlestick maker died of dysentery.

The Map

The world is now open for exploration. Nine new locations have been created and each one features a unique song, new artwork, trade values, locals to converse with, and surprises while sailing the local waters!

Sailing to Shanghai

Here's a list of all the locations!

  • London, Britain
  • Ponta Delgada, Azores
  • Reykjavik, Iceland
  • Lisbon, Portugal
  • Las Palmas, Gran Canaria

Emergent Storylines
Survive a voyage to Nassau then become a Pirate that does as he pleases or a Privateer that will receive a letter of marque from the Royal Navy to hunt those filthy scallywags. Both offer the freedom to go where you want and do as you please but give large overall goals for you to work towards and reward you!

Men are made rich or claimed by the sea. What will your legacy be?
