We regret to inform you that Lucasfilm has denied our request, we want to thank you though for your support but this wont be the last your hear of us. We won't be deleting our content that we have created but we will store it for the time being, and if we don't see Knights of the Old Republic 3 in the next ten years, Then we will present our case again to them. But on a personal note, perhaps this may encourage EA to pick this up, as there is great potential for this. We will keep doing our best and pleading with EA and Disney to let us make this game.
Were making good progress, we now have the heads up display running inside of SWKotOR3. As you can see we have begun working on a Tatooine Planet.
Remember we have a two year development cycle, so we have plenty of time to make this an unforgettable game, hehe.
That texture looks terrible! Hopefully it looks much better from about 1.6m of the ground...
Also although I can see that this is in the unreal engine it's still not as impressive as I'd like. But then you still have 3 more days to show much more convincing screenshots :P
Oh and really? "As you can see we have begun working on a Tatooine Planet." I mean sure it makes sense but I'm pretty sure that other desert planets don't go by "a Tatooine like planet" in star wars...
Lastly I've been playing some KotOR recently. (Thank you guys for making me want to do that:P) And I've noticed something. I like the vague quests that basically give you the main object but you have to figure out all the details on your own; and I really like the puzzle element where in order to get cool stuff you have to figure out how to get to it. I also like that some quests give you more than one way of solving them.
However it's still not enough:P I would be nice if each world was large enough that the player wouldn't be able to go everywhere before running out of time. By running out of time I mean whatever events taking place based on game time rather than quest progression like it seems to be in most if not all games. So basically it would be nice if for example Taris was more open so that we could have the chance of torturing a black vulkar to tell us where Brejik is then go and fight our way through Brejik's nearly invincible bodyguards (similar strength to that sith guard guarding the elevator. Ideally it shouldn't be an easy fight:P) and after interrogating Brejik rescuing Bastila without the need for a swoop race. All while under a timeline of several ingame days until Malak thinks it's talking too long and destroys the entire plannet. Of course that would be very difficult to make such a free system for the player without missing out on story and extending dev time so I'll hopefully get my fix for that sort of freedom from Star Citizen:D
As a long time KOTOR fan I hope they keep the levels not too big and keep them simple like the previous games but big enough to have a perfect atmosphere and enough places to explore. Being too big could set off balancing issues with the story and consequences of your actions but I just hope the story is good.
Although I like having a large map to explore (exploring in games is a tonne of fun:D) I agree with you. It it's too large it could damage the atmosphere.
That being said it kind of felt off when out of the entire planet of Taris (one large city) you somehow managed to go to the exact floor that had both the hidden beks and black vulkars when you went into the under city. I mean I highly doubt there are only 3 main floors in the entirety of Taris...

were creating all the low quality stuff first, then once everything is working to how we want it, only then we will work on the higher poly stuff. saves on time and were doing things as and when we need them.
and there will be more on the way soon folks.
You need to show the characters, and the third person view. Or better yet just make a game play video... The mountains and desert look just like the tatooine desert from KOTOR 1 but we need more!
Can you show anything else to help us believe this is legit?
I agree on this ^
Can you show some proof?
I guess noone likes when someone ruins our hope...
I don't mean to be offensive. Just need to be sure.
At least something somewhat substantial prior to the 31st. A simple ground texture with an awkward hud opacity isn't very assuring.
it does say early alpha, you ever read the titles man? also there is a two year development cycle like it says up there to the right....just saying give them time man i think this will be great game when its out, just remember something, BioWare was made a household name because of KotOR! The same for Obsidian. you guys are so negative its unreal, have some faith, after all, at least these guys are making the game, don't see anyone else doing this game...do you? your expecting things that you would get in a one year cycle, this is two so the rate of production will be slower but more focused, give the guys a break man. i'm a big fan of the series and the fact that someone has taken their own time, to make KotOR III is a no small feat, remember you have coding, source editing, animating, cinematic's, ui's, sound effects, music, scripting, legal, licencing, casting, all these things come into play guys c'mon lay off the heat will ya, its just a game at the end of the day. lets see if any of use can do it? you wouldn't know where to begin, so pipe down and let the developers do their work. Peace, Aaron Rogers

We would be less critical of them if they didn't have a preorder option on their website until the game was much more done.
