These are the Linux dedicated server files for Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force.
Elite force dedicated server for Linux.
With much gratitude to James Drews (drews@engr.wisc.edu) for compiling this and sorting out the problems.
Thanks to Dekard@admincentral.net for running the servers to test out the fixes.
Install:
-Create a directory on your linux machine for the game. For example: /usr/local/games/stvef
-Create the "baseEF" directory in directory you just created:
/usr/local/games/stvef/baseEF
Note: Case IS important and must match the above
-Copy the linux binary into the /usr/local/games/stvef directory
-Copy the contents of the baseEF from the retail CD to the baseEF directory
-Copy the server.cfg file to the /usr/local/games/stvef/baseEF directory
-Modify the server.cfg file to match your desired configuration
-CD into the directory with the binary
-Start the game with the following command:
./linuxstvefded-static +exec server.cfg
Notes:
-the game needs "baseEF" as the subdirectory not "baseef"
-compiled with the -ffast-math option removed to fix the armor in the wall bug
-updated to work with the 1.10 patch
-the download pak bug is fixed, it will no longer create a null file.
-if you have additional maps, for the download to work correctly, you need to
place the files in the ~/.stvef/baseEF directory (the home directory for the
user running the binary), or you can put them into the baseEF directory where the
binary is located and start the server with:
./linuxstvefded-static +set fs_basepath /usr/local/games/stvef
(modify the path to point to where you installed the game)
-If you want to use "pure server" with this version, you will need to copy the
pak1.pk3 file from the patch over to the baseEF directory.
two files are available, the first requires glib2.1.3:
linuxstvefded-glibc2.1.3
and in case you don't have glib2.1.3 installed, use:
linuxstvefded-static
note: if you wish to talk to users on your server, the "say" command for dedicated servers is "svsay"
