This build introduces support for 1-4 players. Gather up to three friends and try your hand at a 3 vs. 1 boss battle.
This means that it is very far from feature complete. It is not representative of the final product. As development continues, this game will continue to be updated and have new features added regularly. This version of Slay the Beast is for 1-4 players to compete in a match between heroic Knights and a powerful Archdemon.
To play, just extract the zip file then run Beast.exe. See README.txt for controls and other information.
NEW IN THIS BUILD:
- Added particle effects to fireball and slash impacts
- Fixed race-condition crash going from menu to in-game
I can't seem to move left or right when I'm the knight
Hmm, I'm not sure what might cause that.
Are you using keyboard or gamepad controls? If you're using a gamepad, what kind are you using?
I am using keyboard
I've tried reproducing the bug in my local environment, but no luck so far I'm afraid.
If you're playing as P1, you should be to control the Knight using W,A,S,D from the 2nd round on.
This varies by manufacturer, but most keyboards have limits on which keys can be recognized when pressed simultaneously. (See: Blogs.msdn.com). For example, the 'D' key might not be recognized when both 'V' and 'C' are pressed, stuff like that. Even then, if the Knight doesn't move even when you press 'D' or 'A' by themselves, then I'm not sure what could be the problem.
I don't have input configuration implemented yet, so you're kind of stuck regarding reconfiguring keys for now. The only other workaround I have at the moment is using a gamepad...
Sorry for the trouble.
oh, ok thanks
