A week has passed since we launched the Seelentanz project on indieDB. We have already received a few PM's with suggestions and feedback about our concept documents. Seriously you are awesome! We didn't expect to receive any feedback this soon.
Unfortunately there is some bad news.
Chaos who has done all of the coding and Unity-related stuff will retire from the project due to private matters. It is quite hard to dedicate the little free time we have after returning from work during the week. Despite all this you did a really great job finishing the code needed for our prototype and you will be missed! Know that the project will always welcome you with arms wide open if you find the time and motivation.
Early Prototype
During the last week we made a quick prototype to get familiar with the Unity engine and the editor.
This early prototype also made a few things clear to us. First of all we noticed that the top-down-viewport doesn't support the required immersion at all. We were trying to use a top-down-angle because this would have made things easier for us (e.g. less detail for 3d models). Now we will try a first-person-viewport instead. Furthermore I'm really sorry for the cheesy assets ... yeah ... it's a bloody pentagram ... and there's a skeleton ... oh my god ... it's evil!!! (I'm sorry!)
Upcoming
Last but not least, I've begun to work on male and female human models to replace the Spartan King character we are currently using. The modeling and UV mapping parts are already finished. Now I'm working on the textures and the rig as well as animations. Guess I will be able to put some renders up on this page during the next week.
That is pretty much all of it for this week. Again, if you are interested in this project just let me know. Due to Chaos's retirement the project is in desperate need of a coder. But everyone willing to contribute is a welcome friend.
