Capcom is considering updating Resident Evil 2

A pitch is already delivered to the studio

Producer behind Resident Evil HD Remake, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, has now delivered a pitch to Capcom with the desire to produce a HD remake of Resident Evil 2, reports Gematsu. Resident Evils official Facebook page shared Hirabayashi an image in which he says he started putting together ideas for a Resident Evil 2 HD Remake after he had finished Resident Evil HD Remake.

The image contains a folder titled Biohazard 2, which is Resident Evils title in Japan, with the subtitle "New Rebirth Project" or "New gjenfødelsesprosjekt". Capcom's response to the pitch is not yet revealed, but this could be a good sign for all Resident Evil fans out there.

Would be nice! They did it for RE1, why not RE2?

risk of it being a financial failure perhaps... they were convinced to go the RE6 route.

anyway a RE2 remake would be sweet.

RE6 did surprisingly well. A lot of people were mad it broke from the horror genre, including me, but it was still a solid action/survival game.

For an RE2 remake, I'd prefer they do what they did with the first game and just HD remake it while adding some extra content.
