This video demonstrates the first working attempt at networked movement using the new engine. I've spent the last week implementing the custom packets and optimizing them to only transmit critical player information.
By only transmitting vital position and rotation information I was able to reduce the ping from 400-500 down to a stable 40-50 ping with a few spikes. Post process calculations are down by the receiving client to calculate the dot product which gives us our direction and variances in speed.
I'm still working to correct the spikes through further optimization. This ping is not local and is live ping from Florida to Dallas where the server resides.
You will notice some choppiness, this is also being worked on and is directly related to the draw cycle and will be fixed within the next few days.
