Overview
PPPL (pre-alpha title) is a grid-based puzzle game. The player controls a series of lasers and blocks which must be arranged in such a way as to direct the beams of the lasers to the target blocks. Tools at your disposal so far include reflectors, splitters, mergers and multi-colour filters which change the colour of the passing laser beams.
Key Features
Game Modes
Puzzle: The player has a set ‘hand' of starting blocks which can be placed on the grid. The player must place and rotate these blocks to guide the laser beams towards the goals. Some pre-placed blocks can be rotated, while others can't. The player must set up the board and then fire the lasers. If all targets are satisfied
during firing then the player completes the level, otherwise the player must re-configure the board and try firing again.
Gravity: In gravity mode, the player does not have any blocks to place, though can still rotate and configure certain board items. Some blocks in this mode can be destroyed by the lasers, causing all non-fixed blocks above the destroyed block to fall down a row. The player can fire the lasers as many times as needed to
try and reach the goal. A reset board option is available.
Panic: Very similar to gravity mode with 1 key difference - the lasers will automatically fire periodically, meaning that if the lasers are not configured properly then the board could be ‘broken' and the player could lose the level. If too many lasers are turned off when the period elapses, ‘Overcharge' is added. Once the
player's overcharge exceeds a certain threshold, the level is lost.
Satisfaction: Nothing to do in this mode, as it is a bonus mode. The level is arranged to create satisfying pattern or effect when the lasers are fired.
