Splitscreen Stealth Action Game. Ninjas. Coop. Moustaches. Ninja Brothers is a little game which is heavily influenced by the old Tenchu series. It is still under construction by myself and is developed with Unity3D and Blender.

After a long time I like to tell what the current situation is about the moustache Ninja Brothers!

First of all I'm sorry that there isn't many updates from me. The game is currently very slow in development, because recently I had barely any time left.

But here is a short development status:

Enemys:

Currently I have implemented an guard with a spear. He has a pretty good advantage with his long reach and sometimes it is hard to get to him. But he isn't as agile as the other enemy thus he can't dodge well.

Enemy with spear

Furthermore I am working on an enemy with a bow and normal sword. The last enemy will be somewhat of a normal samurai. I have to polish my enemy state behaviour to easier implement different enemys. Besides I will rework the clothing so the enemys will be better distinguishable.

Mysterious Musican

This fellow here was a character I had for a long time in my mind. He will be serve as an ambient music maker, so you better don't disturb him!

Appearance:
I have polished the MainMenu and ItemSelection screens.

new Main Menu

as you can see there is a new option "Customize Ninja". If you don't like the Mario and Luigi cloth colors, you can now change it. I will expand this with different cloths to choose from.

New ItemSelection

The item selectoin screen has now a discription for every item and the lighting was repositioned for more visibility.
I have added two potions and five secret ninja scrolls, which will be rewarded after an excellent mission. Every scroll has an Kanji inscribed with an different effect.
Red: Fire, Yellow: Control, Green: Originality, Black: Shadow, White: Light.

I'm planning to add ninja armour as an additional item, if you have some ideas let me know!

Gameplay:

In respect to your feedbacks I have retweaked the movement speed and the overall movement fluidity. Therefore I smoothed the camera movement a little and set the camera position when playing only with keyboard a little higher.

For combat I have integrated parrying. If you manage to block just before the attack hits you, you are able to deflect the attack and bring your enemy off balance.

Parrying

Visual:
I spent a large time playing with image effects, well in future I should stop doing so, haha.

Here are some results:

Greyscale - Sin City effect SSAO test

The second picture is my attempt to integrate Screen Space Ambient Occlusion. It is very noisy as you can see and I will see if I can bring it to an usefull state.

The last one is a new motion blur filter. I like the result very much as it gives a lot more the impression of speed. My goal is to do object motion blur!

Tell me what you think about these effect.

Things to do:
- new enemy state behaviour
--- therefore more different enemies and bosses
- rework inventory system
- rework climbing system (has many bugs currently)
- script items
- more things I just can't remember

I try to post more often, but can't ensure it.
And thank you very much for downloading and playing my game!
Stay stealthy

Like the looks of the game but either the cel shader is a low quality one or you dont have any anti aliasing enabled

Glad to hear! Yes anti aliasing isn't enabled, there are visible artifacts when enabled. I'll keep it mind and will check a solution.

Concentrate on animation. Everything else is secondary in a stealth action ninja game.

Yes the animations are currently very crappy. Since I'm doing everything by myself I needed some basic animations to build and test the gameplay. I plan on reworking them later.
