Hi, everyone! Welcome to another week's developer's diary.

Before we get down to the depravity of content corrupted by everything rotten in the underground city of Katan, let us wish our Jewish friends a happy Passover. So, here is some related content for that.

Matzah is the unleavened bread of affliction coming along with the story of the Exodus. The story is about Jewish people leaving Egypt in a hurry to liberty, escaping from oppression. I first saw such food when I was working in New York about a decade ago. My neighbor was an old Jewish gentleman. One day, he asked me to help him fix his oven and I learned the story of what he was cooking. I believe one of the reasons why such a story is so well known is because it's our nature as humans to seek a better, free life without being opposed because of who we are. Yet, more than 10 years later, it's another Passover, I see mobs at Columbia University rally against Jewish students. They are ranting about slogans they do not even understand. They say they want to save Palestine. Yet, they fail to understand it is Hamas terrorists who are putting Palestine in danger. They say they want to see people in Palestine free. Yet, they fail to realize there are still more than 130 kidnapped hostages who cannot return home. It's sad to see such a pathetic and ignorant display take place in a city I once lived. Thus, I shall reaffirm my support to our Jewish friends on this day.

Now, let's go down to the content of this week.
Warning, this week's updates contain potentially uncomfortable content. It may not be a good idea to read in public. Because most content updates take place in Katan, it's quite a messed up town.
For example:

Alright, not so soon. Let's start with something not so NSFW first.

First, you can now actually fight in the Arena in the Den of Pleasure.
It's a 4v4 mortal kombat, you will face off against random local bandits in the arena. If you come out victorious, the host will encourage you to execute the opponents you just defeated. The crowds are bloodthirsty, they will cheer you up if you do so. If you are a follower of any blood god such as Kong, you may also gain devotion from this. That's one way to gain respect in Katan. But, you can also reject local customs and spare your opponents. Unfortunately, your kindness may only receive more hatred as your opponents may view it as a humiliation to deny them an honorable death. Bonus points: if you can win battles when you maintain your HP to the MaxHP, and follow the instructions to execute your opponent in a blood mess, the host will declare it as a flawless victory. In such a case, you will gain even more rewards and reputation. It's a mortal combat after all. :)
Meanwhile, there is an arena trainer nearby, he will only teach you skills if you can survive at least three battles. After that, you may learn the way how those bandit berserkers fight.

Second and I guess that's something many have been waiting is the further expansion of the Fall-from-Grace Brothel in the Den of Pleasure.
As I mentioned earlier, both "fresh" and "meat" can mean something sexual even in different languages. Previously, we covered the literal means and the religious means of "fresh meat." It's time to go down to find something sexual.
The brothel now has an entirely new map to represent its main areas. Even though most parts of it are still works in progress, you already have access to the manager's office to embark on a very morally questionable journey. There are many different ways to start your first contact with the manager. You can wait outside or go straight into his office and witness something...disturbing.

Many years ago, someone once asked me a question, if I saw two employees making love in an office after work, what would I do? My answer was, as long as they do not cause any trouble to others, I would let them be. Now, how I handle things does not matter. It's your turn to decide how you want to handle a similar situation here. You may have some really wild choices in the game.
Of course, it comes with a new cutscene.

Those who own the "Gallery Unlocker" DLC can have this cut scene unlocked automatically without progressing the story here. However, as the nature of such cutscene dictates, I think I shall add some additional warning for all such kinds of DLCs. Thus, during this week's updates, I also added an NSFW warning to all similar cutscenes in the Gallery when someone wants to play them. An additional confirmation is required.
I will not go down to many details of this new cut scene. However, the goal of such a new cut scene is not to provide eye candies or fan services. Sure it contains one naked girl doing something [data redacted] on a naked man. But, you may find it's more like a horror or crime scene that makes you more uncomfortable than horny. Or maybe, such Slaanesh-like pleasure is way too much for common folks.
Of course, you can avoid this cut scene entirely. You also have other choices. You can even go straight to attack the manager. You can even attack him during sexual activity and cause him to start the battle in a "bleeding" state.
Anyway, you will meet the manager, and what you do during this first contact will decide the initial relationship value between you and him.

He has his own twisted faith. If you attack him, you may learn all of his sins by using the "Detect Faith" skill.

Now, as we continue to develop the story content in this brothel, I think it's necessary to make the sexual experience a live skill.

Of course, you gain experience from all kinds of sexual activities in the game.
But, it's more than that. As I enjoy over-engineering, there are actually more data and experience tracked by the game. For example, the game even knows your favorite positions. It's just not displayed on the UI yet.
Meanwhile, you may have noticed those arrow buttons. As we are getting more life skills on the list, the life skill window can now be scrolled up and down to display all of them. Either mouse or keyboard can work.

That's the major part of this week's updates. However, you may also find some other quite significant improvements in the game, such as All procedurally generated quests now reward Exp. (Rather than killing a lot of things to gain Exp, I think I shall also encourage people who enjoy quests.) and Additional furniture for your pocket dimension. They are used in the brothel. But, I shall allow you to deploy them anywhere you like. More small changes can be found in the full update log of this week.

That's the beginning of some of the game's much darker content. I will not avoid adding such content. After all, the darkness will not care if you ignore it or not, it is still there. But, all such content is relatively localized and can absolutely avoided. Just avoid Katan, you will not see such horror and your sanity will be intact. But, I know some of you are still curious. :P
