Join Matt again for another inMomentum developer video log! This week you’ll get another glimpse into the development of the game and our theory on lighting.
We enjoy playing around with colors and light, and you'll see this reflected in inMomentum. While a lot of games create their visuals with textures and mesh detail - we put way more work into lights, shadows and just two simple colors per most levels.
In this video, Matt talks briefly about how much lighting is important for us, and how we intend to use it to create a large variety of shades in colors - there is no better way to blend two colors than with proper lighting and well tweaked shadows. Lighting is actually half of our visuals! Have a look blow.

Isn't that the default Unreal 3 lighting engine?
Partially it is. Still, it's not about what "lighting engine it is" it's about how we use it and how we combine it into our artistic style. :)
nice work guys
the (intro and outro) music is really great
i'd like a video with a focus on music and soundeffects
or i at least want to know what music you use in that video :)
oh and btw, sudden namechange from Momentum to inMomentum? any reason for this?
I think the video series is just called inMomentum... They take a look IN Momentum.
Thought so too at first, but looking at "related games" i believe that the name of the game was changed to inMomentum.
Makes me want to hear any thought why they did it (its nothing huge though, just so suddenly 'by the way')
The change was mainly because there is already a game out there with a name trademarked as Momentum. When we first named the game Momentum we did an in depth search but it seems we missed it. The name change is because of this. :)
Exciting work, it's looking great and you guy are obviously being very intelligent as far as your design goes.
Again, excellent!
I'm really excited about Momentum. The minimalistic style is excellent!
