Modulated is a Mech Arena Simulator, where you customize your own mech and bring it to the arena.
The game focuses on a simulation style gameplay where you have to manage the weight and speed of your mech in order to aim and navigate.
The game is planned to have scavenging, crafting, improving parts, research, exploration, at least 100 unique parts, all uniquely behaving tools and weapons, lots of attachments, simulation based controls and combat. And plenty of arenas and events to partake in.
The gameplay, AI and customization features are currently in, though needing polish. Most of the currently relevant assets are in and a few remaining bits are being completed.
However the game is currently in very early development and a lot of the features and content has yet to be implemented.
You can customize you mech, change settings, and fight in an arena, and the display of these features are relatively well presented and complete. But that is it at the moment.
No. There will be a free alpha, but as the game expands from there, a version containing updates will be released and will come at a small cost (starting price will probably be around €5.99).
The price will gradually increase as the game becomes more complex.
Well, the alpha has just been released.
As for a full release, I don't know if it will ever be released in the standard sense. I wish to continue developing it until it's a complete game experience, then I will continue developing it as long as there is interest in it.
There's two binary files for the game, you'll want to use the one in the binaries/win32 folder, not the one in the main folder.
Currently this game is a garage project with no funding behind it, and as such I am unable to develop the game full time or do any outsourcing whatsoever. However, donations can change this and help me make the game faster and better!

Every bit helps and I guarantee the money will be spent on the game and nothing but the game.
If you do not have any money to spare you can also help by spreading the word of the game!
I thought I would give a little update once in a while of how progress is going and what's being added.
Some more things will probably make it in, especially a lot of tweaks and fixes, but the above points are the major things that have been planned out and started so far.
This will be quite a big update, hopefully bringing the game a bit further from a tech demo into something more playable. However, this is quite a lot of work to get just right. So it might take a while for the next update to arrive.

keep up the great work - this game will beat titanfall... lol
anyway i played a quick round Youtube.com
great work and i'm pumped for more :D
this seems a little slow moving :I
This is intentional.
It is understandable it doesn't come across yet due to the current lack of options and varied levels, but this game is intended to be a slower, simulation style game where you have to make informed, tactical decisions rather than relying on twitch reflexes.
I have also decided to change the official genre of the game from "3rd person shooter" to "Combat Sim". I believe it is more accurate, or at least that it will be after a couple of patches.
When will be finished this?
As the FAQ states, there probably won't be a version that's the definite "finished" game. It will simply continue being developed as long as people have interest in it.
Nice! Very creative!
very coherent art and im sure that the fucntionality is already outstanding : )
Thanks! While the gameplay is already quite solid, it does still need quite a bit of fixing, mostly just polish to make it feel more satisfying.
Is this already the Mobile Version, or is the test gameplay taken from PC UDK? I'm asking, because the lighting is very nice for mobile and the overall quality of materials seems pretty high.
There's no mobile version.
