Journey into the gritty and not particularly pleasant world of Max Payne. This third person action game features a strong storyline and an altogether interesting antihero. Max Payne is a gritty journey to the present day New York City during the worst winter blizzard in a century. The thriller pulp story keeps the players guessing right on till the end. The game shoots from the lowest slum pits to the greatest skyscraper heights, leaving behind a trail of corpses, splatters of blood, and empty brass rolling on the floor.
(UPDATED 04.12.2018) English version of the original mod made by The Silver in 2010, translated by yours truly with some fixes in order to get the best experience possible.
As this is one of the first mods made by The Silver in 2010, you might have noticed this wasn't made in English like his many later releases. So in order for others to enjoy, I took it upon myself and managed to get this mod in English, along with some fixes in other areas. All gameplay features included in this mod remain the same as in the original.
List of changes.
-Corrected pickup message for the M79 ammo to reflect its quantity (It should've been called "Grenades" instead of "Grenade")
-Replaced player death music to match with the current [max_theme]
-All text replaced from Italian to English, including weapon and ammo pickup messages
-Added new boot loading screen and credits bitmaps
-Replaced BGM with selected tracks from the film, taken from the "Max Payne: Complete Motion Picture Score" by Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders
-Upgraded [max_theme] with a higher-quality version ("If I Was Your Vampire - Instrumental" by Marilyn Manson)
-Replaced [max_theme_short] with a short version (made by myself) of the aforementioned [max_theme]
-Replaced ammo pickup names to real ammo types, based in official designations (pickup messages)
-Corrected some real weapon names (pickup messages)
-Removed Bullet-Time music
-Removed HUD invisibility during Bullet-Time, as it also had some side-effects related to the Sniper Scope
-Reworked chapter selector, now moved to the New Game menu
-Added a movie intro (That is, if you don't have "-skipstartup" in your launch parameters)
A special shoutout to the author, The Silver, who inspired me to get this mod up and running to a wider audience.
Enjoy the show!
