Land of Seylia is a tactical role-playing game with elements of empire building and resource management. You control the kingdom of Seylia as it expands from a single city, to a mighty empire spread across the procedurally-generated land. Along the way, you will recruit units, watch them hone their skills in combat, build new cities, capture enemy territory in combat, and master the art of item crafting. The battles in Land of Seylia are focused on small skirmishes, with approximately 5 units per side. The game is currently being prototyped in Javascript and HTML5, which may or may not change as development progresses.

In most RPGs, you'll see things like HP damage and status effects displayed somehow, often with text that pops up over a unit. In Land of Seylia, this is exactly the approach we're taking. Here you can see one of the player's units (cyan faction) has cast the spell Miasma, a fairly large AoE that costs 12 MP. This affected three enemy units (pink faction), poisoning them and dealing 5 points of HP damage to each. And, of course, the wizard gains XP for this action.
