Icarus is a 2D ambient platformer game for Windows featuring unique game mechanics, engaging atmosphere, and a living world. Take the role of a lowly beggar, Icarus, as he finds himself put in a position of great power and responsibility. Choices are made through gameplay, not cumbersome dialogue trees, and will ripple throughout your dynamic story. It's a retro quest with modern twists.
As some of you may have noticed, the audio quality in Icarus is only MP3 192kbps. This keeps the file size down and is good enough for most people. But Icarus is built on the idea that just because it's decent doesn't mean we shouldn't want better.
The Icarus OST is now available for download in many high quality formats. It's really great stuff, but if you played Icarus you probably already know that. Give it a download and leave a comment to let br1ght pr1mate know what you think of it!

Looks like terraria with a plot, pretty cool.
Can you add multiplayer to the game or at least a Co-op?
I love terraria i love this nice job
Thanks! Icarus was many months of hard work so it's nice to get that appreciation for a job well done :)
Sounds good. I think the graphics aren't the main thing in games. If you can provide an interesting storyline I could give it a try...
May I suggest one improvement? The persons and objects are too tiny for me. Will there be an option to zoom in?
Currently it's locked perspective but you might find the size to be better in the actual game as opposed to in a video window. I have an arcade-y gameplay demo of Treasure Hunt mode coming out pretty soon so let me know if you still think it's too small after you play it.
Is this just me, or it really looks like Minecraft 2D?
Ug yeah. I made the engine before Minecraft was really popular and was going to do something really similar to what the guys at Survivors of Ragnarök are now doing. Then Minecraft exploded and there was no way I was competing with that so I sat on the engine for a long time. Now I'm using it to test story-telling techniques instead.
Come to think of it, I have a lot of game engines I did nothing with. Anyone want to buy awesome, unfinished game engines off me?
