This is the second free alpha of Hoverbike Joust. X-box 360 controllers or equivalents are recommended, but you can play with a keyboard and other controllers too (see readme.txt for details).
This build features improved in-air steering for the bikes and adds in-game menus for audio levels and some basic graphics options (toggle camera post-effects, vsync, and antialiasing). There's a lot more info in the included readme, including a full change-log and hints on how to control your hoverbike.
!!LINUX & MAC USERS!!: These builds are untested, as I don't have access to test hardware currently. Also, I'd strongly recommend remapping your controls in the launch window before you first play, as the defaults are for Xbox controller mapping in Windows, and I understand it is different in Linux/Mac and depends on the driver you're using etc.
YES! I shall test this to the full extent of my capabilities! <3
Thanks! I also added a button for reset (to make yourself crash) as you requested. =]
I must say, the game has gotten a whole lot easier when you don't rotate in the air. I don't know if i like the new mid-air rotating thing. Anyways, only new bug (that hasn't been fixed) that i found was that when i opened the game up, i can select the play game opition without moving the selction up and down. However, pressing the key to select the play game option opens up the menu. Moving the selection up and down removes this. Cheers!
Hey, I forgot to reply to this! I agree about it being easier now, but I do feel the controls are a bit more accessible this way. In the end, I believe this will be one of the elements of the bike customization system. Different components/options effect how much roll vs how much yaw, as well as top-speed, handling, turbo-depletion-rate etc.
Oh, and for the menu thing, this appears to be an issue with Unity's brand-new UI system. I haven't been able to find a solution for it myself, even with some deep-diving into their UI code, so I'm hoping that they'll fix it in an update.
