Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is a playable technology showcase that introduces High Dynamic Range lighting to the Source engine. It is included with Half-Life 2, purchased on Steam. Originally planned as a section of the Highway 17 chapter of Half-Life 2, Lost Coast follows Half-Life protagonist Gordon Freeman as he travels up a coastal cliff to destroy a Combine artillery launcher in a monastery, which is firing on a nearby town.

A cool source tech demo, no really a game. fun enough to play through a few times.

Great cut level from HL2. Just very short though. =-(

Liked it, but it was although to short.
The could've added atleast a better ending, but it's more af a Source tech demo.
9/10 good game.

excelent demonstration.

problem: you fight inside an abondened catholic church.

Its a really good "episode" to see what can do the Source tech, you can play it, its short but its good.

A Good Short game for half life with it showing many advancements of the engine and how it will be shown in the next episode which is episode 1 and 2. a good game to play when you are feeling bored.

Beautiful Tech Demo for 2005.

Not much to say. It's a fun tech demo that you'll probably play through once or twice. Short, sure, but fun. Really nothing's wrong with it.

Source Engine still looks sexy in the midst of 2017's hyper-realistic graphics. :P
