"Growsim" is a medical marijuana caretaker simulation game, putting you in the role of a licensed grower serving patients. "Growsim" is an open-ended experience, seeking to find a balance between hardcore simulation and intuitive gameplay. While profit is always nice, the core of the game is discovery and cultivation of plants. Random generation of "strains", coupled with cloning, allows a near infinite amount of variety; each strain has its own climate preferences, potential yield and potency ratings. Players can setup and maintain different grow rooms with different lighting and environmental settings. All of that doesn't come cheap, so selling product to patients and compassion centers is necessary to pay the bills. Multiple grow rooms, lights, HVAC systems, nutrients and other expenses need to be managed. Random events such as power outages and insect problems can occur. Note: "Growsim" has nothing to do with illegal drug use, drug abuse, or criminal activity.

The first beta of GROWsim will be released soon. Aside from a few play-testers already selected, larger availability will likely be via pre-release channels to help with paying for advertising and the costs to get the game on bigger portals such as Greenlight.

Check growsim.blogspot.com for more details.

As of right now, the system requirements are as follows:
OS: Win XP+, Mac OS 10.7+, Linux, or web-based
Keyboard and 2-button mouse (or equivalent) required (playable without keyboard)
Hardware-accelerated/WebGL-capable graphics

Features implemented and tested:
- Sharing clones (desktop version): identified plants can be exported to a clone file, which can then be imported into any game of GROWsim
- Sharing clones (web version): identified plants export a plant code, which can be copied and pasted into an import dialog
- Photo Album: screenshots are saved in-game, creating a browseable album; saved screenshots can be captured by any screen software (or general print screen function) or downloaded in the web version
- Music & Sound FX: 10 tracks play randomly during the game, and volume can be adjusted as desired; sound fx play for alerts and general actions, and sound volume can also be adjusted as desired.
- Career awards & secret codes: the longer your business is successful, the more awards you'll receive; awards come in the form of codes that can be redeemed from the options menu for a variety of in-game bonuses. There are many secret codes, as well.
