A strategic management game, best described as a sci-fi tower defence game with moving spaceships and configurable units. Design your own ships from a series of hulls+modular components, group the ships into a fleet, give the fleet orders and positions and then watch it engage in OTT gratuitous space battles against enemy fleets.
This is the current version of the deployment interface for the game. This is the pre-battle section where you place your individual ships, and set up AI behaviours for them to use during the battle.
Your fleet is the green one on the left hand side, the red fleet opposite is your AI-owned enemy.
None of this is final, but this is the UI for this part of the game as it currently stands.
nice
do you actually know your enemies postion all the time? Or is there some kind of recon element in the game, especially in the SinglePlayer campaign?
However on the highest of 3 difficulties, you don't know the enemy positions ahead of time, until the battle starts.
There is no 'meta-game' surrounding the battles, they are standalone skirmishes, so it's a case of big huge spacefleet battles big huge enemy spacefleet right in front of it :D
