Forest of Suns is a psychological adventure being developed primarily for OUYA.
You take the role of Harry, a middle aged man in the midst of a mental crisis. He has spent his entire life suppressing the trauma of his childhood, but after a lifetime avoiding his issues they have finally caught up with him.
Forest of Suns blends the traditional adventure genre with a side scrolling beat'em-up and focuses on telling a robust psychological narrative. Featuring a hand painted art style designed from the ground up by Luke Rion as well as an original soundtrack written and recorded by Luke Mangelsdorf.
The game is scheduled for release on OUYA on June 19, 2014, with plans to make it available on other platforms at a later stage.
Harry is moving!
These animations were done a fair while ago. Long enough that the program I was using told me if I saved the files they would no longer be compatible with an older version. This was an indicator that I hadn't visited the files in some time. It's hard to time manage when you have to play multiple roles in making a video game. I think I've spend so much energy working on the environment and versioning control that the animation role was neglected. I've had these loops on the back burner for a while but now I can't wait to take these into Unity and get Harry moving!
I have yet to add some kicks and some uppercut loops, but they will come in future posts.
Note: The windmill move is a secret move that may or may not exist in the game. Also I just felt like making Harry's arms flail around. Awesome stuff.

Great visual style
Hey thanks! Our artist, Luke Rion, is a pretty talented guy. He's made a fair bit of headway compared to the screens we have up on INDIE DB as well. We'll be posting some more recent stuff soon.
