Flawless Abbey is a game about accepting loss.
A mysterious, grotesque Labyrinth Tower - home to The Flawless Abbey.
The Tower, as if a living thing, moves and breathes to the beat of a melody, made by an elegant clockwork sprawling inside, seemingly larger than the Tower itself.
You find yourself in a maze of clockwork and song, not remembering how you got there. Your only aid is a musical Star-Key, a fragile artifact - and the answer to every secret the Abbey holds.
Climb the Tower, unlocking your way with the power of melody. Meet Aurora, and discover the true purpose of your visit.
Today we are talking about the color palette chosen for Flawless Abbey: where everything resembles stained glass.
In general, the full game is dominated by the colors purple and lilac. In color psychology purple represents wisdom and spirituality, usually connected to mystery and the unknown. In the game, the colors symbolize the contrast between the dream world and the real world.
Stained glass is a coloured glass material that has been used throughout history mainly in churches and other religious buildings. In honor of this historical medium of art, in Flawless Abbey we see elements similar to these iconic colorful windows — lot’s of detail and bright colors in a hazy blue atmosphere.
And the Labyrinth Tower itself is like a geode which hides a variety of bright colors inside. It’s a temple that represents the colorful nature of the human soul.
What do you think? What do these colors mean to you?
