Space Battle Arcade

FLAK is a 2D top-down shoot’em up about speed, survival and watching with perverse glee as your pursuers smash into obstacles at deadly velocity. FLAK blends the edge-of-control intensity of traditional arcade shooters with the compulsive replayability of an endless runner. Relive the thrills of the Star Wars “Ewoks vs. Scout Troopers” speeder bike chase, rendered in a striking, comic book style and set against a hard-driving breakbeat soundtrack. FLAK is in the beta stage of development. It will be submitted for community review in late February and is expected to see final release as a free Windows and HTML5 game by March 2015.

I'll be sharing some of the final art that was recently added to the latest build of FLAK. Although it is too late for addressing major feedback I'd simply love to have people see more of the game before it's released and of course get your thoughts on the design and feel.
FLAK is certainly alive and kicking. I took an extended break in 2014 to work on a design contract. Soon after that the indie dev doldrums took hold for a few months.
I have mapped out an accelerated schedule to complete FLAK by February 18th, 2015. A large bulk of this work will revolve around UI implementation, polish effects and QA. It's going to be a bit tight but without deadlines there is no accountability and no fire lit beneath my swivel chair.
