Hey dancers! It's been a while since my last post, but don't worry I can explain. Disco Danger has an update going up. There was a lot of discussion and trial and error going on with this bit.
This update includes a new feature, the ability to change music. On the main menu there is a new button.
Pressing that button will bring you to a new menu screen with a list of tracks (With credits at the bottom, of course).
Additionally, should a player fail a level, the music will automatically change to the next one on the list. Why, you hypothetically ask? I know people remember dialogue and sounds from levels they constantly fail. Just hearing 'Dance' and 'Water' in the same sentence gives me horribly flashbacks, for example. Now I don't expect people to be forced to repeat one level over and over, but in the event that they do...
While this does take a little bit away from a player's choice and freedom, it does make things a bit fresh as they go.
The next little tidbit is a more... quality of life sorta one. The contrast between lit tiles and dimmed tiles is a little less intense, furthermore there is a new UI at the top of the game screen. While the DJ didn't end up getting put in the game, his setup did. Now, it will be easier to tell when the colour changes.
Enjoy the super colourful version while it's here, each segment will have the flat tile colour in game. It occupies the entire upper portion of the screen. The timer is also made larger for the sake of clarity.
That's a bit of detail about Disco Danger's update. I hope you all enjoy it. Keep on dancing!
