Claustrophobia: The Downward Struggle is an indie RPG roguelike, with a retro graphic style and a terrible sense of humour. The game takes place in a series of ever descending randomly generated dungeon floors, packed full of monsters to slaughter and loot to pillage. The game plays like a traditional roguelike, but with a clean UI, a slick, action orientated combat system, and a massive range of enemy types, skills, gear and room designs. With features like crafting, skill trees, characters development, and just-one-more-room style gameplay, Claustrophobia is a love letter to traditional RPG rougelikes. Create your ideal hero, build your own custom class, then set out on your quest for glory, slaughter, and anything shiny!

Would be nice if I could navigate and pick up items with the keyboard, like in other roguelikes. Moving with the mouse all the time drives me a bit insane. ;-)
I would also help if picking up items (with the mousepointer) directly places then in the inventory. :-)

Shift + RightClick already directly places in your invertory :)
A Keyboard based control scheme is coming, but only for movement. Otherwise, there would be no keyboard way of aiming bows.

Thanks a lot for the information, the Shift-RClick-Thingy actually helps a lot and improves the gameplay vastely for me. :-)

I really like the concept of crafting btw., I didn't encounter this in other roguelikes.

Thank you! I wanted to do something a bit different with the crafting.

Is the controls section of the options menu disabled?
I'd very much like key customization

Jan 19 2013 Anchor

It is, yes, I wasn't aware it was even showing up until yesterday. The menu isn't ready, so the tab wasn't meant to be showing up yet.

along the same lines, how do you split a stack (eg. of copper)]?

even if custom controls are disabled, and tutorial is in development (not that i think that one is necessary), default controls should be viewable (in-game and here on desura).

Once a stack has been picked up, you can right click to place one from the stack, until you have enough. Left click drops the whole current stack.
The controls were on my blog, and on the news here, but they seem to have been lost over time. I'll get a standalone page up.

I am searching everywhare how can we use magic like Firebolt i have the skill but what to do now ?

Apr 7 2013 Anchor

First equip it to one of the number keys 1-6 by holding the mouse over the skill in the skill menu then pressing the corresponding key. To use skills, you need a weapon equipped that works with that skill tree: strength - melee, agility - ranged, intelligence - staff. Once you have a skill on your skill bar, just press the key, which will highlight the targetting area, then right click on the cell you wish to cast on.
Hope that helps.

Hello! Skills are now available on the left hand side of the screen. Mouse over the left hand of the screen and a panel will appear. The spell book is Skills.
