circuit_strike.x1 is the full 1080p sequel to circuit_strike.one, a 2.5D arcade shooter that takes place inside computer networks of an 80’s inspired Cyberspace. At its core cs.one is a fast paced 2.5D shooter powered by an inertia based physics system much like the classic arcade game Asteroids. Fans of Geometry Wars will find a similar aesthetic and enemy behavior with a larger battlefield, fixed objectives and fluid parallax movement. cs.one’s audio/visual effects, gameplay and Rez like environment were inspired by Cyberspace as described by William Gibson in his award winning Cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer and Neal Stephenson’s vision of the matrix in Snow Crash.
I am working through some HUD Designs for the new version of circuit_strike and they will set the tone for the game's identity. The game takes place in an 80s cyberpunk setting so either of these themes could be valid. It is a space shooter at heart so the 80s retro theme could be more unique than the AR design that we see so much of these days. On the flip side, we see it everywhere now because it looks amazing. Personally, like both so I wanted to see what other people think.
