Blitzkrieg 2 is a RTS located in WW2. As its predecessor and the similar Sudden Strike games, Blitzkrieg 2 focuses on the battles of World War II rather than real-time strategy aspects like base building and resource extraction. The game features many new features and units over its predecessor; the graphics engine is upgraded, allowing for full 3D and the game features over 250 units compared to Blitzkrieg's 200. The player has the ability to dig trenches, lay mines, resupply and repair units or call in air support but there are no resources. Virtually everything can be destroyed including buildings and bridges. Forests can be flattened by tanks or artillery. Each unit of a respective nation speaks its own language, adding immensely to the immersion. The game shipped with a mission and resource editors for users to create their own units and maps. The game contains five factions: Germany Soviet Union Great Britain and France Japan USA

This game, despite starting to show its age, has engaging graphics and great high-action gameplay. The only downside is the DRM it comes with, but that's tolerable.

Beautiful Graphics, Smooth Gameplay and captivating story.

A sequel for the original Blitzkrieg released back in '03 , Blitzkrieg 2 eschews it's predecessor's highly serious tactical gameplay and placed emphasis more towards faster battles and lesser micromanagement, even though gameplay is considerable easier than the first, BK2 does not hold back on higher difficulties and you might find yourself losing faster than you can click units.

overall Blitzkrieg 2 is an enjoyable RTT but fans of the original will be disappointed by the sequel's emphasis on zerg rushing and "Arcade" feel.

This is one of those games where you just want to make your own mod and make them speak your language, if i would know how to make a mod, i would add Finnish Defence Forces. This game takes players with it to the fields where units have their own language, you might not understand them, but they understand you and your every command. This game has beautiful world that can be customized with artillery, tanks and soldiers.

Ah, where do I start? One of the most demanding games in the Real Time Tactics genre. The constant strain of making the most of your limited supply of munitions in missions where resupply was impossible and units had only what ammunition they brought with them, to the constant shuttling of supplies to other units holding off enemy assaults.

In many ways I think this was the grandfather of the Wargame series. Dozens of units arranged on the battlefield, the careful coordination of infantry, support weapons, AFV's and even limited air support, the sheer variety in the units you can get.

The campaign feature where ranking up by completing missions and thus unlocking more advanced units was much appreciated as well! Overall...it's a classic. Just go and try it, I'm sure there's a demo lurking about on the internet, and you can pick up the game and both its expansions (Fall of the Reich, focusing on the late-war Eastern Front, and Liberation, focusing on the Italian Front) for £4 on GOG now. That's a bargain.
