The era of the VR weightless, wiggle-sword combat is over. Blade & Sorcery is a medieval fantasy sandbox like no other, focusing on melee, ranged and magic combat that fully utilizes a unique and realistic physics driven interaction and combat system.

Built exclusively for VR, collisions are dictated by fine hitboxes, objects have weight and follow the laws of physics, creatures have full body physics and presence, and blades can be used to penetrate soft materials or deflect magic.

In Blade & Sorcery, the combat is limited only by your own creativity. Choose your weapon, choose your stance, choose your fighting style; Be the powerful warrior, ranger or sorcerer you always dreamed of becoming!

Blade & Sorcery has migrated its modding support to mod.io, formally introducing a mod browser and a dedicated hosting platform for its UGC. Modding support for the game has been stellar since its inception, and it's the VR title of choice for many whether they're purely in for the bloody hand-to-hand combat or its expansive mods. Read on to learn more about Blade & Sorcery and what mod.io support means for the game!

Blade & Sorcery is the debut title of WarpFrog, tailor-made for VR and to take advantage of the medium's possibilities. In the game, players control a fully physically simulated character and fight similarly simulated NPCs with gory hand-to-hand combat, ranged medieval weaponry, and magical powers that allow for some brutal finishers.

Blade & Sorcery's combat sandbox includes dozens of weapons and spells which can be combined in creative ways, like electrifying a short-sword before delivering a thunderous blow, or super-heating the end of an arrow before firing it off at an enemy. NPCs wielding magic keep the player on their toes and require them to be able to parry or counterspell similarly equipped enemies.

A hallmark of the game is its tight and brutal melee combat

With such a substantial sandbox, it's no wonder that Blade & Sorcery's greatest pull is perhaps its substantial modding support. Total conversions such as making the game entirely Star Wars themed, or expanding the weaponry with which players can slaughter enemies (like modern firearms, for those who like an uneven playing field) have emerged over time and bolstered the game's offering. No formal mod browser or hosting solution existed for the game...until recently, when Blade & Sorcery kicked off its mod.io support.

Within 48 hours of introducing the mod.io content browser, Blade & Sorcery mods reached over two million downloads. with some of the largest mods for the game having already made the jump to mod.io. Cross-platform support ensures regardless of the VR storefront, users can download agnostic mod content straight to their game, and try out the rich variety of UGC the community already has at their fingertips.

Update 12 introduced this bolstered modding support and has already been live for a few days. Many quality of life features - like being totally integrated in-headset without a need to navigate outside VR, toggling mods, and a virtual search bar - ensure an easy time getting stuck in with some of the goriest, most brutal, and most creative mods the community has to offer.
