This week I worked on the procedural generation of the Tribehome village and how it grows as the game progresses.

So this week I continued to work on the Tribehome, and specifically how it is to grow.

Throughout the game, you’ll save various tribes, who will all settle in a specific area of your island – Tribehome. As the amount of tribes increases, so does the village, and so will the amount of services that you can make use of in it.

The village itself is composed of a number of buildings, some of which are part of the village proper, whilst others (like farms), are in the periphery. So far, I’ve only finalised the village itself. The village itself is procedurally generated, and whilst the buildings will appear in order, where they appear (and the map itself) is going to be different for all players and all games.

Let’s take a look at some screenshots to see what happens as it grows.

All villages start off with the Clanhall and a plaza with a market.

As the village grows, roads start to sprout from the main area and other buildings are added

And so on and so forth until we have a bustling little city on our hands.

So that’s it for this week. Next week I need to add the periphery buildings, and then some villagers to populate it.
