Ok so, I am stuck in a jam. I have little money so here's what i have to ask: I do want a oculus rift. But i can't see paying as much as a DK2 costs, just in case it turns out i don't like it..My thought here is maybe i could buy a used rift, but then again, I digress. If i do get a used one it would be from ebay, and i don't know if the person is telling the truth about the condition its in. OR i could just wait, which i don't like doing, for the consumer kit to come out? Question is, if you were me, which direction would you take? |

Im waiting for the consumer version, it'll likely be cheaper, but more importantly refined and completely worthwhile by then when there are plenty of games and much improved third party software. I'm betting this is the last dev kit, or maybe a third one by christmas, but we'll see the consumer version by spring next year or earlier, they seem to have the core ideas behind it developed now, It'll be worth the wait if anything. |

Well like i said, I'd be fine if i was to get the dev kit 2, but what happens if i don't really like it? Then I've wasted money, that i don't really have. |

They have stated the dev kits are not for consumer use and the final version will be 100 fold better then dev kit 2. The dev kits don't have the resolution, fps or the motion sensing you will get in the final product so is a waste of money unless your developing a game for VR. |

I hear that they've already stopped producing DK1..when the consumer kit gets released, will they only have a limited stock? Is there any like stores i can try it out at? Like someplace like Bestbuy or something?
I do realize that, but people all over the place are saying to "get it, get it, get it".. So what your saying is that i should wait for the consumer release? I would prefer if it would come down to 200 something 250 would be the ideal point for me,. Edited by: anonymouss3221 |
