I have had this idea in my head for a very long time and i absolutley need it made r i will go mad. so here my idea starts.

In Universe 87 (aka- the reborn universe[our universe]) Aliens called the zyfeirs (zye-fair-s) come to earth and attack for an unknown reason. well for some reason certain people begin to... change into stronger more godlike beings. Think dissidia on crack. three of these "stronger humans" get caught up in a direct attack on new york city and find themselves on a journey to find out what is going on and why this is happening. the three's names are Jacob hart(long blade), Emily Yonus(dual scimitars), David montgomery(dual blades), and then they meet a rebel zyfeir named geourge(ge-or-gu)(heavy blade). this is only the first few chapters of the first act. there are 8 acts planned. i havent the time to put the full story on right now. but i will put a more comprehensive version up later today. if you feel somewhat intreged please message me. i will be waiting.

No offense but do you want to write a book or make a game?
It doesn't matter how brilliant your story is if you you haven't thought about game mechanics.

9 out of 10 game ideas posted on these forums aren't game ideas at all - they are stories.
Tetris, PacMan and Mario are games that have a bad story (or even NONE at all), and they are still legendary because of the game design/mechanics.

I don't want to come off as a hardass here, but that's how it is. One of the first things a game designer has to learn is that they shouldn't focus on being a writer/storyteller - but focus on "selling" the game by comming up with a great design.

Well harvey try telling us more about yourself, seems to me your profile and bio say nothing of what you actually are about.
though mind you if its storys you like telling... i could do with some of those.
Of course that wont mean fame or even huge fortune.. however story telling thats one epic hole in my ability set im unable to fill.
Do tell storys , though at this point keep in mind many others have no idea about the story you refer to in the first place.
long story short... got any short storys of your own that are worthwhile ?
Perhaps those would be better suited to a game then remaking a story many hardcore fans may not gell to.. even genius minds like george lucas couldnt get that right (referring of course to starwars prequels).

Don't force it, get a larger hammer.
I tried to daydream, but my mind kept wandering

This is an ideas forum, however you're also sort of trying to recruit people. Frankly, no one except beginner developers are going to contact you with only a story to go on. Most decent developers are going to want to see some sort of work first. Not that writing isn't work, but I mean something visual - a proof of concept other than the idea that aliens attack Earth.

Are you going to be the leader of the mod?
Are you willing to learn other skills?
Do you understand how a game works?

I'm not trying to be patronizing but those a few (of MANY) questions that went through my head reading your original post. From what I've seen, most team leaders can either model / animate or program. Once again, I'm not saying story writing isn't work, but 3D modeling and programming (while sometimes enjoyable) can be tedious and difficult sometimes. I basically boils down to pulling your own weight. Which most beginners can't. It isn't a bad thing; it's just a learning experience. Furthermore, most beginners severely underestimate what it takes to make a game - as a team leader you don't need to be able to DO everything, but you need to understand everything. You need to understand what everyone's job is and how it fits into the big picture.

When you're inexperienced, you're more likely to the see a released mod/game if you join a team rather than start your own. However, if you join a team as a writer (or any position really) you'll have to be prepared to have your own ideas rejected.

You can ignore my advice if you want, but if you can't honestly come up with the answer to the questions I posed above, at least research until you find the answers. Good ol' Wikipedia for a crash course: En.wikipedia.org

That's the best advice I can give, I hope it helps. Any typos are 3:24am's fault.

the game is an advanced "hack and slash" but far more complicated than just jam x the whole game, it has a whole defense and countering system that encompases the whole way you play the game, with three defense buttons and one counter button in which combined with the defense buttons comes up with some interesting counterstrikes. each character has different types of strengths and weaknesses, allong with different types of weapons, good for different types of enemies. with upgradable armor and weapons, throughout the game you get stronger and stronger, eventually hitting an increadible peak. in the game your ability to travel thruout the immince universe increases as you will gain the ability to fly as Jacob and in other future charaters. (this is just a few of the specs, i cant continue because its storming here and i dont want my computer to explode)
