Hi guys, I was working on my map for 2 days long, like 24 hs per day, then I tried to compile it and it did compile all good. The map was fine and i found no bugs, the next day (today) I tried to open my .map file to keep working on it and then i found out that it is empty. So, what should i do now because my 2 days work is lost and i have been searching like the whole day a solution for my problem. Anyways thanks for your help. |

First of all, hammer makes a .vmf backup file called a .vmx which saves after a successful compile. To open in hammer, just search for the correct .vmx in the same directory as your saved .vmf should be (make sure you change the available extentions to .vmx in the drop down menu). Secondly, you can also load the map from an autosave which would be located usually on the main drive e.g. C:/HammerAutosave. --

Ah, sorry. Well if you still have the .bsp, you can convert it using this tool: --

Theres the problem, I cant do anything. .map file doesn't work, .rmf file is like in the beginning (only CT spawn has been done there), if I try to use the WinBSP tool then it tells me that 149161671321 solids were not loaded (so all of them). Also my friends have tried various programs to decompile the map but they keep asking me "did i protect it and how did i protect it" because it is impossible to decompile it. EDIT: EDIT2: Ok I have converted it to .vmf but now it has to be saved as old format to .rmf in Source SDK, wich I dont have (Also I dont have no source games so I cant really use it either).
