I am looking for a safe, free and easy to learn image for MAKING game sprites. I want something that I can use a color mixer to make my own colors and such, I want a single pixel tool and opacity copatibality. |

GIMP, it's pretty much a free version of photoshop minus some features here and there. I use it to make textures and such. |

Well Crazynolis, I create custom textures using Pixlr, I have also used it for spriting, it is free and it will do everything you need, plus more. It is an in browser tool, but that does not really make a difference to me. I hope I helped, and good luck to you with your sprites. |

For pixel art GraphicsGale is easily my favorite. It's built for pixel art. |

And therefore, I think that most of the things you learn in GIMP you can also quite easily transfer over to photoshop if you ever need to make that change in the future. ---- |
