Hey guys! This is our first official game and it's called Break Free.

It's an endless runner for android. We're trying to learn as much as we can with each of our games, so feedback is highly appreciated! =]

Maybe you should have someone check your spelling but the game is visually good looking and gameplay seems fun. I especially like the menu style and the general tech and magic feel of the game. Well done.

Everything looks cool except for the animation, the timing on all animation is off, the hips never move ( looks like you have difficulties managing the position offset) and some pose are really weak.

at 1:55 no one runs like that ;)
It's a sad thing cause the rest looks cool but the animation feels like they're at a prototype level and have never been polished. That's a gamebreaker to me.

But hey, it's your first game keep that in mind, and I think that's a pretty decent effort for a first mobile game :)

The animations look fine to me. Although I don't really care about graphics too much. To call the current animations a 'gamebreaker' is a bit silly. Will install and have a play ! : D

I got in the industry as an animator, I studied animation, I work with animators all days long. And those animation would prevent me from really enjoying this game. THat's the first thing I look into a game, how things move. Now you might think they're fine and that's perfect ( we all have different sensibility to thing and different taste) but to me they really are a gamebreaker for a released title ;)

I'll try to find some time tonight to post a more constructive review about the animation and what's really bugging me
I usually expect better stuff from a released game (but that's my personnal opinion)

Believe me those animations are actually pretty good for an indie game. Feet movement matches the progress the character makes and the character seems to be in balance in motion, still and in between. That's a lot and I could link some of the worse examples but it serves no purpose.

What is made bad is the depth movement of the limbs. This thing was pretty much animated in 2D side view only which makes the front view look very weird. Arms and legs only rotate around one axis that is pointing to the side, but actually when you run you are positioning your feet close to the middle where your center of weight lies, not on the side where your feet lie as you stand still. Arms move closer to center line as well as your shoulders and upper torso turn from side to side.

This is a pretty silly error since having made it right the first time would have required no extra effort. The issue is only clearly visible when character is portrayed from the front and I believe the character is shown mainly from the side like 99% of the game which probably made the developers neglect it. Nevertheless it should be fixed pretty easily by adjusting the animation keyframes' bone rotations in the front view so that hands and feet move closer to the middle. Chances are IK is still there making the thing even swifter.

Thank you shadowflar! =] High-tech isn't something I'm used to and the menu looked completely different a short time before launch, I'm glad the push to update it payed off =D

Thanks plinkie, I hope you like it! =]

Hmm, true casf01, the animation could use some improvement. I think shadowflar3 pointed the problems well!

Thanks very much for the feedback, everyone! =] We fixed the typos (that's embarrassing - how did we miss that? ^ ^") and I'm working on the animation currently. After the animation fix is done I'll post here!
