Why no monster spawn on Coop mod?

Running XDM on Steam HL.
There are no monsters on DM_000, try c1a3a or some other map with monsters. Also, make sure you have explicitly selected CoOp in mp_gamerules.
PS: CoOp is not very reliable, we had no time to test it properly :(
Ok in c1a3a i can see monster spawn, can you list all maps that can spawn monsters? i really like this mod. Sorry this is my first time playing X-Deathmatch.
Unfortunately, there are no special CoOp maps. I used to play HL single, some singleplayer mods (that don't have DLLs), some maps with monsters that I found across the web - they're all in mapcycle.cop (just open with notepad). Those maps are not included, you'll have to download them somewhere else. I recommend hldm_battleschool for monster DM.
Why can t I find any servers on this mod? :(

Seriously the top left overviewradar is too big and it blocking my view, how to disable that radar? i mean to completely disable it. Any cvars?

can I spawn any monsters pls? for cheats
Console:
summon <classname>
spawnmass <classname> <number of entities>
but note: those must be precached beforehand (same as "give" command).
To permanently place and entity using UI:
toggleselmode 5
and click on a surface where it should be created. It'll be saved to an .ent file.
when I spawn human grunt but it says: Host_Error: PF_precache_model_I: 'models/hgrunt.mdl' Precache can only be done in spawn function
Yes, it's a standard HL requirement: you can't add entities that were not loaded with the map (e.g. only if there ARE hgrunts initially on a map, like c2a5, you CAN add more of them). The only way to override that is to write maps/mapname_patch.ent with entities you'd like to add, and start the game afterwards.

If I understand you correctly, XHL/XDM never worked with original HL server/client because HL1 DLLs (in /valve/) have absolutely different and incompatible code (for example, no weapons). So, you cannot, for example, launch XHL/XDM and connect to ordinary HLDM server.
Unfortunately, there's no documentation on how to compile XHL in/for Linux, but I'm trying really hard to write code to be platform-independent, so the process should not differ much
from that of HL. Anyway, I think I found someone who can help me with that and next release is not far away now. ;)
